My insinkerator has stopped working, why?

There are a few reasons why Insinkerators stop working, but there is one reason that is easily fixed by the homeowner that can save calling out a plumber.

Here is how to reset your Insinkerator.

If the Insinkerator stops due to a jam, follow these steps to get your macerator working again.

1. Turn off the water and power to the insinkerator

2. Grab the small allen key that came with your insinkerator

3. Put the allen key into the hole under the centre of the insinkerator and turn it at least 360 degrees.

4. Remove the wrench, and then use tongs to remove whatever is in the insinkerator. NOTE: don’t use your hand.

5. Allow the motor to cool for 5 minutes

6. Find the red reset button on the underside of the insinkerator and press.

7. Turn the water and power back on.

8. Switch on the Insinkerator.

9. If this has not worked, check your power board to ensure that the circuit breaker has not popped.
